In certain vehicles, the driver's airbags may not inflate correctly. This increases the risk of injury to the driver in the event of an accident.
In certain diesel engine vehicles, the under-bonnet fuel hoses have been misrouted, causing the nylon fuel hoses to chafe. Diesel fuel may leak onto the exhaust manifold or onto the road surface, which could cause an accident or an under-bonnet fire.
Due to a problem linked with the electronics, the engine may cut out without any detectable warning signs. This could potentially cause a crash.
Excessively brittle bolts were installed in certain fittings used for the front and rear wheel hub assemblies. There is consequently a risk of the bolts breaking which could lead to other components being damaged. This could result in the front brake disc breaking or could undermine the stability of the vehicle during braking.
Glass panels that have no chemical bond to the adhesive could detach from the vehicle whilst the vehicle is in motion. Where a glass panel detaches from the vehicle, it may collide with other vehicles on the road or compel other road users to take evasive action. This could increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
