In the event of a lateral collision, the software of the occupant restraint system control device may trigger the deployment of the head/lateral airbag and/or the preloading device, when not intended. This may increase the risk of an accident and/or injury to the occupants of the vehicle.

A chaffed steering wheel wire harness may cause an electrical short circuit and/or unintended deployment of the driver airbag. There is therefore an accident risk.
