The rivets attaching the toothed cam to the ascender body may not have been fitted correctly. The cam and indeed the entire ascender may therefore become detached from the rope. There is also a risk that the rivets which attach the safety catch to the toothed cam have not been fitted correctly, thus increasing the risk that the ascender may become detached from the rope. If the ascender becomes detached from the rope, the user could fall from a height resulting in serious or fatal injury. The product does not comply with the Personal Protective Equipment Directive.
The safety stitching may be missing. This would cause the immediate failure of the product when loaded. The user could consequently fall from a height resulting in serious or fatal injury. The product does not comply with the Personal Protective Equipment Directive.
