The red fabric contains azo dyes releasing the aromatic amine 2-Naphthylamine (measured value: up to 103 mg/kg). When the product is in direct and prolonged contact with the skin, the aromatic amine may be absorbed by the skin. Aromatic amines can cause cancer, cell mutations and affect reproduction. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
The amount of nickel in the product is too high (measured value 0.0017% by weight). Nickel is a strong sensitizer and can cause allergic reactions if present in products that come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
The yellow varnish contains Chromium (measured value total Chromium 54.1 mg/kg) and lead (measured value 288 mg/kg). Chromium is an irritant and sensitizer and can trigger allergic reactions when in contact with the skin and exposure to lead can result in severe and irreversible neurotoxicity, particularly in the case of children. The product does not comply with the requirements of the the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-3.
A small child could put a piece of the mobile (the wooden piece with hearts that includes the metal fastener) in the mouth and choke. The product does not comply with the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
The insulation of the product is not adequate and the power supply is not protected against moisture, although the product is recommended for outdoor use. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
The product contains clobetasol propionate (measured concentration 0.04 % by weight). Clobetasol is a corticosteroid that should be applied to the skin only if prescribed to treat certain skin conditions. In addition to the skin lightening effect, it can induce a skin rash and burning at the application site and long-time exposure could lead to endocrine problems. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
The cord can easily break and release the beads. A small child may put them in the mouth and choke.
The bars of the cot can detach and a child could fall through the gap created. In addition, the gaps between the bars at the base of the cot are too large. While playing a child could put its arms through the bars and become trapped. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 716.
The cable can overheat which could lead to a fire. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
