The products contain aromatic amines (o-anisidine and aniline) (measured values: up to 5 ppm for each) and/or barium (measured value: up to 54000 ppm). Aromatic Amines can cause cancer, cell mutations and affect reproduction. When Barium is present in soluble barium salts it can be absorbed from the tattoo and have toxic effects. Barium toxicity leads to cardiac arrhythmias, respiratory failure, gastrointestinal dysfunction, paralysis, muscle twitching, and elevated blood pressure.

SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation).
