The outer plastic layer contains 0.44 % by weight short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs). The placing on the market and use of articles containing SCCPs is banned. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. The product does not comply with the Regulation on persistent organic pollutants (POP Regulation).

The product, with an easily detachable key-ring and shaft, may be put in the mouth of a child and cause choking. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1
