Serious risk
Plastic aeroplane
Small parts can easily detach from the toy (i.e. the plastic stickers, the wheels, the pull cord, the axis of the rear wheels and the inner fragments of the musical mechanism). A small child could put them in the mouth and choke on them. Furthermore, the plastic bag of the packaging is too thin and if a child plays with it, the plastic can cover her/his mouth and nose, causing the child to suffocate. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
Plastic fan
The product can easily break and generate small parts (the on/off button, the vanes and the cap as well as the inner mechanism of the helix). A small child could put them in the mouth and choke on them. Furthermore, the plastic bag of the packaging is too thin. If a child plays with the packaging, the plastic could cover his/her mouth and nose, causing the child to suffocate. In addition, the toy includes a metal plate at the bottom of the helix with sharp edges, posing a risk of cuts.
Cradle
The locking mechanism of the swing system may easily unlock. If this happens while the child is unsupervised, the child could stand up, making the cradle tip over on one side. This could cause the child to fall and suffer injuries. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 1130.
Passenger car
The wiring harness could become damaged where it is in contact with part of the steering column assembly. If this happened, a short circuit may occur. Potential safety-related consequences include deactivation or malfunction of the windscreen wipers, the headlamps, and/or the horn. Engine stalling may also occur.
Passenger car
The inflator case component within the airbag assembly may rupture during passenger airbag deployment. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could be propelled into the passenger compartment, potentially causing injury to a vehicle occupant.
Fitness gloves
The pink textile material contains azo dyes releasing aromatic amine benzidine (measured value 67 mg/kg). When the product is in direct and prolonged contact with the skin, this aromatic amine may be absorbed by the skin. Aromatic amines can cause cancer, cell mutations and affect reproduction. Moreover the product poses an environmental risk because the plastic in the velcro strap contains short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) (measured value up to 0.180 %). The placing on the market and use of articles containing SCCPs is banned.
Elastic straps
The straps easily pull out of the hook mountings when under tension, causing the elasticated straps to recoil and hit the user or causing a fixed load to fall, leading to injuries and accidents. The product does not comply with the relevant standard BS AU 258.
Children’s trousers
The product poses a risk of injuries because of the presence of unattached drawstrings in the waist area, which may become trapped during various activities of a child. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14682.
Children's waistcoat jacket
The product poses a risk of strangulation due to the presence of a drawstring in the hood with toggles at the ends. The cord is made of rubber and, if pulled, the toggles may spring back into the child's eyes and face, causing injuries. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14682.
